Hi guys this is the techeroid and i would like you to know that this is my first post on my first blog ‘GADGET REVIEWS’. There can be mistakes and I would really appreciate your feedback in order to make myself better at this stuff . I am going to talk about the jellybean update I recieved on 3.12.2012 on my galaxy tab 2 7″ 16 gig version.
I came to know this morning that jelly bean update is rolling out in US and Canada for galaxy tab 2 7″ and 10″ so I decided to write this review.
The jellybean update came over the air in India ( Where I live ). There would be a usual software update option in the notifications and it will guide you through the rest of the procedure. This usually takes 30-45 minutes and ta-daaaaa. You have officially acquired jellybean on your tab 2 .
You deserve the right to know a little about the upgrade so here is a little sneak peek.
The first change you will notice is that the lock screen does not have many changes and is quite similar to the older one instead of extra smoothness.
The next change is that the notification has moved on top instead of the little box on lower right. This feature is warm welcomed.
The notifications can be dragged down from anywhere on the top. The notifications are resizable. You can pinch zoom in to expand the notifications and pinch zoom out to shrink it. Another time saving feature is that you can tap and hold to reveal the app info option. From there you can access the app settings to force close, diable and disable notifications from that particular app.
Instead of the notifications the recent apps, home and backing button are comfortably placed along with the mini apps tray on the extreme right and a wierd looking more button on the extreme left that opens more option on some specific apps.
You will also see that the home screen features 6 quick launch items which can also be replaced by you. The one good feature that comes with jellybean is that you can have resizable widgets that adjust themselves when something else is dragged over them. For both home screen and menu folders can be created to hold one or more app shortcuts. ( and the folder opening and closing animations are very smooth )
Jellybean update brings project butter to your phone. My opinion regarding this addition is that it adds a whole lot of smoothness and fluidity to the user interface and games. SG Deadzone, Dead Trigger, NFS Most Wanted etc played quite well on my tab. I will be happy to be of any use if you encounter any problem while using your tab with the updated software , feel free to mail me.
The recent apps menu now can be used to access Google now and ram manager directly
And yes, I would not be stupid enough to forget Google Now. Since I will not be reviewing Google now today , you can check out this link to the official page don’t worry because google now offers the same services on all devices.
Of course the system’s speed has improved and there are many other tweeks but all of them will make this post way too long so I will leave you on your own now.
Just so you know that I will be writing my next review or post based on YOUR demand and feedback please be sure to give feedback so that I could improve. If you liked this post please subscribe to my blog.
Thank you for reading,
